Privacy policy
Effective July 2026.
Deforget is built so that we cannot see your data — not "do not", cannot. This page is short because there is very little to disclose.
What we collect
Nothing. Deforget has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no crash-reporting service, and no servers of ours. We never see your diary, your extracted items, your contacts, or your usage.
Where your data lives
Your diary is stored on your device. If you use iCloud, it syncs through your personal iCloud private database, under your Apple Account, encrypted in transit and at rest, accessible only to your devices. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
On-device intelligence
Extraction is performed by Apple Intelligence on your device. Your text is not sent to us or to any third party by Deforget.
System access you grant
Deforget can, with your permission, create items in Apple Reminders and Calendar, read your calendar to link meeting notes, match names against your Contacts, and use the camera or photo library to add pictures to entries. All of this happens on the device; none of it is transmitted to us. You can revoke any of it in Settings at any time.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the change will be visible on this page with a new effective date. Given the architecture, there is not much room for it to change.
